Even gaining entry into the Rift Canyon was a greater ordeal than they expected.
Apparantly, during the first Dragon attack, some Giants broke off the main conviction and decided that they should rule the canyon.
A few giants accompanied them through the ruined camp.
Dead bodies were everywhere, both Giant and Dragon. Defenses were breached, siege weapons destroyed and the camp had split in two.
At the end stood a large citadel atop a lone rock, protruding 1,200 feet from the canyon floor. A stone bridge connected it with the rift.
Their entourage stayed behind, as the four walked the 200 feet across.
They were met at the entrance by a small squadron of Giants, lead by Kagro Thundersmiter.
Chief of the 'Hunters of Tiamat's children', second only to the King.
There they each told their tale, the heroes of recovering the Phylactery and seeking fallen Seeds, and Kagro of the recent assault as well as the infighting that ocurred simultaneously.
They agreed on a course of action, Kargo would grant them audience with the king (who would know of the phykactery) and tell them of any fallen objects.
If they would grant him a huge favor and apprehend the riot instigator; Charlgar.
The four increased their challenge by vowing not to kill any Giant, kill all Dragons and achieve it all under 5 hours.
