Orcus ascends

Deep within the Vaults of His Fortress on Thanatos, Orcus grew restless.
Millenia had gone by quicker then these last boring Material years of waiting.
The Harbingers arrival has always been a sight of marvel.

Wiping away entire cultures, is one of His few distractions in the Eternal war.
It gave Him new options and opportunities; a chance to reap many powerful Souls
and the opportunity to again create a Following.


So now, He wandered his Hall of Souls. Once it was packed, now it depleted more rapid than foreseen.
Because of His mesmerizing, The Prince of Undead was caught flat-footed by the near-destruction of the incomplete DeadGate..

Eldrua was a Darkness, a Vessel through which He would be followed.
However, the Loremaster had shown more promise in the occult, in abilities to convert and lead, as well as create.
The Demon Prince was too pre-occupied with the Black Comet to realize His mistake.

Now, He roared, and raged in frustrated fury. Eldrua has let Him down; the Loremaster has, in his hurry, attracted
the attention of 'Heroes of the Realm'. That could be the only explanation of this destruction.

Already the Souls gathered were fleeing from His grasp, then Orcus heard the Derro's prayer.
"Master, Prince of All Undead, Bringer of Death, Slayer of Deities, Tenebrous the Allmighty, hear my plea."
Always with the names, Orcus sighed..
"Hear my last Wish and help banish these mortals from Your sanctuary. I've done all You asked, and more."
Yes, you've done more than I've asked.
"They have defeated the Chosen, as well as my Hunters. Now I ask for Your vigor in defeating those interlopers."
Hmmm, the interlopers wouldn't be here, if not for you, Minion..

Regaining his calm, Orcus dispatched a set of Simulacra Dragons, and awakened the dead Frost Giants.
Then He began his ascend..
