Meeting of Heroes

The high pitched noise in the back of Nihlus's head disappears and is replaced by a low thundering roar…
His headache is overwhelming and he tries to recollect…
Finally he manages to open his eyes and look at his surroundings…

The scene before him is surreal, it looks nothing like his hometown. (Archtassel)

The lush green fields that stretched for 3 miles around, the barns and farms that dotted the landscape, the white-painted stone buildings and the yellow-wood houses.
It is all gone, destroyed, burned to the ground.
The only thing left unscathed is the well in the center. The stone-walled well where he is kneeling next to.

Then the roar subsides and the sounds of the world come back, first scattered and soft.
Then clear and loud...


Just before, Shadow arrived at Archtassel. Having hitchhiked a ride with a trading caravan he surveys the scenery.
Then, as a guard approaches to greet them, a roar fills the air and the Gnome is slammed to the ground.

When, moments later, he looks around the entire caravan is destroyed and smoldering bodies lie around him.
Answering screams for help, he runs into town.


Minutes earlier; Xander Kagan is leaving the chapel of Pelor.
He had just received a small token of appreciation and is walking home.
With a smile on his face he greets people in the street and then notices his friend Nihlus Warren, near the town's well.
Walking towards him he is suddenly jerked up and tossed about.
From high up he catches a glimp of the caravan arriving and then all goes black.

When he comes to, all is different. Archtassel is destroyed, burned to the ground.


Nevare 'Coop' stands in the Vale of Lost Voices in the Forest of Cormanthor.
He recognizes the incantation Olikea is casting at him, again.
And thus he quickly waves his hands and murmurs words that should invoke a Shielding around him, preventing her Magic Missiles of reaching and harming him…
At least, he tried.
Then the entire forest explodes around him and he sees Olikea’s body fling through the air.
Trees combust spontaneously and the ground becomes as ash.
Screaming he first closes and then opens his eyes.
He is in the Forest no more.
Standing inside a destroyed building he sees a town which, apparently, had just been under attack.

He walks, slowly, towards two figures near the center well..
