The prisoner, named Veera, has been cured from her affiliation and she has spoken in great detail about both her captors and fellow captives.

The whole temple was a sham, set-up to capture unsuspecting travelers.
Promising 'Secret Knowledge', given by Mystra, they duped them into undertaking a Ritual which was designed to brainwash them.
At the end they would gaze upon an artifact from Shar, which would Dominate them.
Dominated captives capable of magic, divine or arcane, were taken to the cells, while others were never to be seen.
My guess is, they now hang in Fembrys' quarters on wall pegs.

Veera told that the boat left without her, but she recalls the pain she felt when she was left behind. How desperate she wanted to leave with them, and how much she wanted to please the Masters.

Maximanus has taken control of the temple and has interrogated both Shan Thar, the welcoming priest, and all guards.
Not one was let in on the sham. Each claims to be working for Mystra through Fembrys. We, our cleric and I, believe them.

We are still in the process of sorting through items and notes found, most noteably a diary left by one of the 'shadow guards'.
It tells of his first revulsion at the torture chamber and Fembrys' hobby, but then continuous that he is about to be let 'through the gate'.
Afterwards he is more confident of his purpose in serving Arthas and despises those who fail 'the test'.

We deduced that some guards, probably more capable ones, were taken below to be indoctrined to follow Shar.
A test that (if they passed) not only altered them mentally, but physically as well.

Tunaster has left for his Order, to retell this tale and speak of your victory. Maybe even bring back a reward.

If you go now, I will do my best to decipher all that we haul back from that fake temple, and inform you of our progress.
When you return, hopefully with more prisoners, we will together find out if this is an isolated event, or that we should mobilize more Purple Dragons.
