When thay came into melèe a low sound started and grew in loudness until it filled the air.
Clasping their ears, they saw an enormous black, abyssal humanoid climbing out of the ground between the magic stalls.
Standing a full 20 foot tall it grabbed a small shop and crushed it between its massive claws.
The sound stopped as it begun, abruptly, with another gigantic black creature breaking free out of the earth.
Batlike in appearance it unfolded its wings and took to the air.

Shadow Wanneskor shouted to his companions to leave them alone and retreat, while of course looting the corpses.
Coop threw a few magical Orbs of Force at the Nightwalker, Nihlus charged the Nightwing, and Xander Keegan smacked the Golems with his Godsflesh mace.

At first the Undead ignored their assault, still smashing shops and stalls, crushing magic items and draining nearby potions.
However, after taking a few hits from a lance and some Force Orbs, the creatures focused on their assailants.

All went well, as blows were traded, the heroes could outlast them.
Until the Nightwalker unleashed its full fury on the closing Cleric.
Sensing his ability to Turn it cast a Finger of Death.
Xander Keegan took the negative energy full on, blasting him from this realm to the next.
His lifeless body slumped on the ground..

The Sorcerer and Paladin terminated the Undead creatures in a last round of attacks.
Nihlus heaved the body of Keegan on Templar, Shadow and Coop looted the wizards and bodyguards.
Again, a low sound grew to a thundering bass.
The ground cracked where the Undead lay, a huge black worm crawled out. This Nightcrawler bore through the walls into the wizards' housing.

Hurriedly the Taskforce grabbed what they could before fleeing the scene, leaving a growing rubble behind.
Looking back they saw the entire Enclave being wrecked to ruin.
