Each felt as if he had slept for weeks and every muscle protested against movement.
Accompanied with grunts and coughs they carefully got up.
They sat on a stone slab in a dark and damp underground chamber.
A soft light source illuminated not only the Company of Heroes, but the face of the Ruling High Priest of Pelor, Radiant Leader of the Church in the Dalelands; Gurin Mirth.
He looked nothing like the babbling, bewildered priest that they had saved from the Tower of Deception.
High Priest Gurin healed each in turn and bade them to go up the stairs into the light.
There he gathered a few pieces of clothing for them and let everything that had come to pass sink in, carefully.
The last thing they remembered was the Hunt with Lord Bargden.
It was explained to them that he, and his servants, were Psychic Vampires and the hounds were subdued werewolves.
They had been lured here and drained of willpower.
Then put into a comatose-state so they could be drained and healed for a long time.
Maalthirr ordered a thorough search for them after they had not reported back after a few weeks.
Gurin, wanting to repay his debt to them, went on a small crusade, while he himself was still recovering.
He learned the hard way that Vampires, especially psychic ones, are hard to track down.
But, after two-and-a-half years, he had finally cought up to them and had now freed the four.
On the road to Hillsfar, they were filled in on the recent history.
Maalthiir and Gurin bestowe upon them a complete combat gear set of their choosing. So that they are ready to go and claim revenge.
