Lucien's Story

With his natural aptitude for Arcana combined with his ruthlessness, Lucien rose through the ranks of the Red Wizards as easily as a salmon swims downstream.

Of course nothing was ever enough for him and when his Zulkir commanded him to help set up the first Enclaves around the Moonsea, he did so with a little twist.

He had not only enclaves constructed in record time, he did so with the help of the local humanoids.
Everywhere he went, he impressed, surpressed and dominated Orcs, Gnolls, Hobgoblins, Lizardfolk and other creatures that lurked in the shadows and under rocks.

Promising them more of everything; lands, goods, gold and tribute.
He soon learned they would follow anyone sent by some God, and so he adopted the mantle of Gruumsh' emissary.

Years went by and he slowly built a small empire of his own, although of course owing fealty to his Zulkir.

Then when he tried to implement his greatest scheme, he was thwarted by some do-gooders.
They undermined his position and even had him fleeing to live and fight another day.

Since then he avoided massing the humanoids to avoid unwanted attention.
The Enclaves grew larger and larger and by chance he gained a powerful bodyguard.
Trained by his paladin peers and gifted with abonormal strength and resilience, he had been assigned to give his life in the service of Lucien.

That gave him more confidence to withstand any group of adventurers and so Lucien again built a stronghold.
There he collected a following of Gnoll and begain raiding the countryside's settlements.

If enough slaves and goods were to be sent back to Thay, he could surely usurp the position of Zulkir soon enough..
