Not knowing the extend of the invasive Outsiders and oblivious to the Tower's destination,
the companions walked up to it.
Now they could prove themselves as responsible, powerful, intelligent and trustworthy to both the inhabitants of Halea's Reach as well as to the Elves of the High Forest as a whole.
Unwittingly they could even undo their accidental activation of the Orb, which led to this Towers' Plane Shift in the first place.
The Towers resident wizard; Belrath, a former student of Olikea, quickly understood how much he was misled.
For months he was seduced and lied to by his lover; Kasmine.
The Erinyes wanted nothing more than to corrupt his Soul, only to prove that she can.
And then reverse the Redemption of Eludecia.
In her cause she has enlisted the aid of a clan of Xills, who can terrorize any sane person by laying their eggs in a living host..
And in front of the imprisoned wizard the first batch is starting to hatch..
Two former fellow adventurers of Belrath have eneterd before; they now lie lifeless just beyond the first doorstep..
Pummeled to death by a gift from Kasmine to her husband..a freshly constructed Flesh Golem.
Xander, Shadow, Coop and Nihlus are now entering the Shimmering Tower.
They also enter the Bleak Eternity that is Gehenna.
Through the tower, and out into a lavastreamed cavern.

...entering the Shimmering Tower...Pummeling the freshly constructed Flesh Golem to death...Enter Gehenna... Wiping out everything evil in the lavastreamed cavern... Taking all of the human survivors back to the Prime... Rid most of them of their parasite and insanity... Went back into Gehenna to save Eludecia... With success!... breaking down the Tower until it isn't Shimmering anymore... That was quite the day ;-)
