This Lance is made from forged steel with a Red-purple sheen.
The haft is intricately carved with interlocked chains and weaponry motifs.

Anyone who clutches Wave constantly hears a sound like that of a distant battle.

According to Legend Wave was forged by giants who were imprisoned on the desolate island called Thunderforge, by agents of the Dire Dragon.
The first hero to wield it was the half-giant Dravenda, said to be a daughter of Tiamat. Who rebelled against her mother's servants and paid for her insolence with her life.

Knowledge, History (20)
Dravenda used Wave in her epic battle with an enormous Green Dragon who was supposedly a true offspring of Tiamat. Dravenda fought bravely but she grew weaker and weaker as the battle raged on.
Finally, while held in its huge claws, she managed to hurl the Lance into a gap in its scale plating, killing it instantly.
Dravenda died the next day, and her kin burried Wave with her.

Shortly after Dravenda's death, a wizard named Lucien encountered the imprisoned Giants of Thunderforge Island and agreed to help them win their freedom.
In return for the magical aid he provided, the giants exhumed Wave from Dravenda's tomb and gave it to him.

Some two-hundred years ago, a group of powerful heroes calling themselves the Brotherhood of the Tome returned from an expedition with Wave among other treasures.
A Paladin named Elthan claimed Wave and used it till his death.
Befitting his station, his gear was interred with him and used by more powerful agents of Good.
