Synopsis at the end of Part 2 (The Skinsaw Murders) of Rise of the Runelords.
Known as the Local Heroes;
Fletcher Trannith, Wizard
Sagerius Valeria, Spellthief
Barthel Shunshine, Bard
Finn Heelum, Favored Soul
supported Sheriff Hemlock in identifying a murderer and stopping its killing spree.
Through murders most foul, they caught the scent of the late Lord Aldern, who was transformed into a Ghast.
Killing ghouls in the cornfields and traversing a Haunted Mansion, they finally confronted their old 'friend'.
They learned of his master and traveled to Magnimar to eradicate the Cult responsible for not only killing greedy people, but also condemning their souls through a dark ritual involving the Sihedron Rune.
At the end they fought and defeated Xanesha, a Noble Lamia, atop the Shadow Clock.
With her death the cult dissolved into a leaderless sect of psychopaths and became much lesss of a threat.
Rewarded by the Lord-Mayor, the four Local Heroes had gained renown beyond Sandpoint and decided to enjoy some well-earned rest.
A little more involving the Book's metaplot has occurred.
The Sihedron Rune is found everywhere, and apparantly the people who are killed all share a Sin.
Tsuto was set free (has apparantly moved north)
