The Four descend into the Demonweb Pits through the Portal in Sigil, pointed out by Rule-of-Three.
Suddenly the noise of Sigil is gone, and they are in a chamber seemingly made of webs. The air smells slightly acidic, and the tunnel is about 50 feet wide here. The only marker of the portal is the presence of bones, hundreds of them, all chewed at the ends with the marrow sucked out of every one. Tufts of hair lie everywhere among the bones.
From the arrival chamber they set out to explore the Web and locate Lissondra, the Cambion's contact.
They fight past the Chwidencha, go through the Rookery, and briefly glimpse at the Fane of Eclavdra.
Eclavdra is Lolth´s chief diplomat and supreme mortal ruler of her organization and multiworld religion, a ravashing priestess known for cruelty and complex scheming.
They then pass the Shifting Spiders and enter the Demon Shrine;
an empty chamber containing an entire temple complete with pillars, an arched cathedral-style ceiling, and stained glass windows depicting spiders and their prey.
At the center of the room is an altar conveniently fitted with shackles and a catch-basin for blood, lying underneath the fangs of an enormous spider sculpture of Lolth that hangs from the ceiling.
Not believing this large chamber to contain nothing of interest they search it completely and destroy the priceless, fragile scuplture.
Among the webs that line the walls, Jack finds a small gold horn icon (a Portal key to the Iron Wastes), and the others find a secret passageway which leads to Lissondra's home.
Having been warned by the Alarm spell at the secret entrance, the Drow Priestess is still surprised to see an adventuring group enter here.
They converse about what Rule-of-Three told them and one by one, slowly, hand her a few of his books and demand her report in return.
In addition she also answers a few of their questions while she glances through the books.
From her they learn about the Portal and Teleportation keys, as well as that the Platinum key resides in the Fane.
Before they can depart peacefully, Tereus invisibly steps forward and shoots her mate Bon the tiefling. Just short of killing him outright, Lissondra screams and Recalls them both away.
Not finding anything of further interest in the Priestess' library they head out to the Portal door, leading to Rime Thuras, land of the Frost Giants.
