The group arrived in the airless, lightless void that is the Negative Energy Plane. Protected by Divine spells and directed by their gained knowledge they Teleported to a nearby Doldrum, where the Tooth resides.
Kastya, the corrupted Githyanki Lord, immediately sensed their approach.
Ordering his Zombie mobs to delay the intruders, he and Iliss (Blackguard) prepared for a fight.
Easily the four waded through the Zombies waving in from opposite sides.
Nihlus whirlwinding, Xander sunbeaming and the arcane casters sidestepping through them.
Beyond they entered a great open hall featuring a grand block of Voidstone.
Not wanting to continuously avoid it, Coop used his Rod of Cancellation to temporarily cancel its destructive powers.
And as Nihlus circled the hall in search of an exit, Xander flew up for a bird's eye view.
Yet, that put him in harm's way..
The vampiric dragon Albrathax was observing them from above, and as the Cleric came into its reach, it breathed fire upon him for a full-round.
In the ensuing battle, the heroes withdrew into a room, discovered by the Paladin, and occupied by the Blackguard as well as the Necromancer.
The Sourcerer shut the entrance with a well-placed Wall of Force, forcing the Dragon around.
Inside, they fought Iliss and battled Kastya.
Immediately after his first failed saving throw, the Undead Specialist teleported away. Leaving his allies to be finished off by the adventurers.
Victorious Xander, Shadow, Coop and Nihlus searched for the Tooth and started ransacking the Doldrum.
Kastya Zurith-Movya arrived at Castle Perilous.
There he pleaded before the Engineer, to it's master; Acererak.
Leaving his most valuable items there, he then returned to the Bleak Hold with two Perilous students.
A favor from the Arcane Lich, for which he'll have to pay greatly.
Interrupted, Acererak returned to it's chair in the center of the great room. Castle Perilous was almost at peak power.
The Devourer restarted it's energy-consumption.
But again he was interrupted, his Engineer showed him an item of interest..
